The Richland County Park District (RCPD) Board of Commissioners invites the public to
the Gorman Nature Center on, Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. for the dedication of our new
flagpole. The ceremony will be held at Gorman Nature Center, located at 2295 Lexington
Avenue, with remarks prior to the flag raising to be held in the picnic pavilion. Light
refreshments will be served after the ceremony.

Want to learn more about bird feeding this winter? Then come join us Saturday, November 21st, at 4:00 pm to learn how we feed the birds at Gorman Nature Center! We will start with a short talk on the best bird feeding practices and look at different feeder styles and types of food. We will end our program by watching the bird feeders in the animal room and learn how to identify our common feeder birds. The entire program will last around 2 hours. This month we will explore the prairies, thickets, and woodland found at Gorman Nature Center! Over-wintering birds returning from the nesting grounds up north like Dark-eyed Juncos are expected!
