Farm Friday

Come spend part of your Friday with one of our Naturalists in the Main Barn!

Most Fridays from June through August (except July 3rd ), we’ll be hosting hands‑on farm fun for all ages.
You can meet and learn about our farm animals, explore the barn, and jump into rotating activities that might include anything from feeding time and nature crafts to farm chores, scavenger hunts, or behind‑the‑scenes demonstrations. There’s always something new to discover, and our Naturalists are there to share stories, answer questions, and help you get up close to the wonders of farm life.
It’s a relaxed, drop‑in style program — perfect for families, grandparents with grandkids, or anyone who loves animals and the outdoors. And the best part: it’s completely free.

Wildlife Journaling – Part 3!

Join Naturalist Hannah for a free, hands‑on nature series inspired by Wild Ohio’s Wildlife Journal. Each month features a new theme as we explore indoors and outside—writing, sketching, hiking, and discovering local wildlife. Journals are provided; call 419‑892‑2784 each month to register. We’ll meet in the Visitors Center. Ages 8 and up; adults welcome. Dress for the weather.
In Part 3 of this series we are going to learn hands‑on all about pollinators. We’ll talk about ways to support butterflies in your own backyard, let design our own garden, then head out on a guided butterfly walk through the fields at Malabar with stops for identification. The evening ends with a look at how nature changes after dark, exploring diurnal vs. nocturnal wildlife and what comes alive at night.
Following parts in the series are: Birds! & Purple Martins with Gary; It’s a Wonderful World, Adaptations & Journaling in the Fall and Winter.
