Students from the Renaissance Theatre’s after-school Improv Underground program take the stage to showcase the skills they’ve developed during six weeks of improvisation classes. Through games, scenes, and quick-thinking challenges, these middle and high school performers demonstrate creativity, confidence, and the art of thinking on their feet. Improv Underground encourages young people to explore storytelling, collaboration, and humor in a supportive environment. Along the way, students build valuable communication skills while discovering the joy of live performance. This one-night-only showcase invites audiences to enjoy unpredictable moments, clever comedy, and plenty of laughs as these young performers bring unscripted scenes to life. Free and open to the public, Improv Underground’s Open Mic Night is a fun opportunity to support emerging talent and experience the excitement of live improv. Under the direction of Stephen Domka and Alora Eyerly, the Youth Orchestra and Youth Strings showcase the remarkable progress these young performers have made throughout the season. The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings provides developing musicians with valuable ensemble experience while building strong musical foundations. The Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra offers advanced students the opportunity to perform challenging orchestral repertoire and gain meaningful performance experience. Together, these ensembles represent the vibrant future of symphonic music in our region. Join us for an uplifting evening as these remarkable young musicians share their talents and celebrate the culmination of another exciting season. Directed by Stephen Domka & Alora Eyerly The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings is made up of some of North Central Ohio’s finest string musicians, primarily in middle and junior high school, from a twelve-county region, representing approximately thirty members this season who perform concerts both onstage at the Renaissance and in the community. A vital part of the Mansfield Symphony’s Education initiative, the MSYS gives middle and junior high school students an additional opportunity for musical growth by rehearsing and performing with other student musicians from the area, allowing them the chance to perform a wide variety of music. The Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra is made up of some of North Central Ohio’s finest musicians, primarily in high school, from a 12-county region. It is the only youth orchestra within a 65 mile radius of Mansfield and represents approximately 90 members each season who perform concerts both onstage at the Renaissance and in the community. A vital part of the Mansfield Symphony’s Education initiative, the MYSO gives high school students an additional opportunity for musical growth by rehearsing and performing with other student musicians from the area, particularly if their high school is unable to offer a full orchestra experience. By participating in the MSYO program, students get the chance to perform a wide variety of fine orchestral music within a full symphony orchestra.

The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings (MSYS) program provides young musicians with valuable ensemble experience while nurturing their musical growth and passion for performance.
Comprised of talented student musicians, MSYS performs a dynamic repertoire of classical and contemporary works while developing important skills in collaboration, technique, and musicianship. As part of the Mansfield Symphony’s education initiative, the program offers students the opportunity to grow artistically while performing for audiences throughout the community.
Under the direction of Alora Eyerly, an accomplished violinist and dedicated educator, the ensemble continues a long tradition of excellence in youth music education. Her leadership helps inspire and guide students as they develop their talents and confidence as performers.
