Join us for the Kingwood Kids Summer Camp 2026 at Kingwood Center Gardens, where children entering 1st through 4th grades will explore nature through engaging activities in both classrooms and outdoor gardens. Each week will focus on different environmental themes, fostering a love for the natural world. Registration is only $10 per child per week, allowing participation in one or all four sessions. Additionally, from May 23 to September 7, 2026, visitors can enjoy the “Glass in Flight 2” outdoor exhibit, featuring stunning glass sculptures by artist Alex Heveri that celebrate the beauty of pollinators and nature. This exhibit is included with general admission and free for members and children six and under. Don’t miss these unique summer experiences that combine art and education for all ages!

Saturday, May 23
9-10am Nature Center Open – See and help feed the LIVE animals in the Nature Center inside the Welcome Center. Visit the fish mural, history exhibit, and bird observation window.
11am-12pm Yarn Wrapped Flower Craft for Kids – Head to the Welcome Center to create a beautiful spring flower. Children should bring an adult assistant.
3-4pm Creek Walk – Meet at the stream near Camp Area C to discover aquatic creatures. Guests must wear shoes that can get wet. All kids should have their own adult supervision.
5-6pm Compass Challenge – Meet at the Welcome Center deck to learn how to use a compass and then complete a challenge course and win a prize.
7-8pm Rag Wreath Craft for Adults – Meet at the Welcome Center to create a wreath with strips of fabric. For ages 16 and up.
9-11pm Movie at the Lake – Bring your blanket, camp chair, and snacks to Picnic Shelter #1 near Camp Area G to watch a movie on the BIG screen. Did you know that it was filmed in Ohio?! The movie is rated PG-13. In case of bad weather, movie will be shown in the Welcome Center.

10am-12pm Fishing for Kids – Go fishing at BOAT DOCKS NEAR CAMP AREA B and Covert Rd. Fishing poles, bait, and guidance will be provided. For kids aged 15 and under with their own adult supervision.
1-2pm Patriotic Ribbon Wand Craft for Kids – Kids of all ages will create a Patriotic Wand in the Welcome Center. Parents must accompany their children and dress for painting.
3-4pm T-shirt Tie Dye – Make a unique creation near the Welcome Center! T-shirts will be available for purchase. Cash only, $10 each. Sizes are first-come, first-served. *New 2026 t-shirt design*
5-6pm Giant Kick Ball – Meet at the playground by Area F for a silly version of kickball. We will be using a giant playground ball. For all ages!
7-10pm LIVE Music: SB Music – Bring your own chair or blankets to enjoy the best Classic Rock covers at Picnic Shelter #1 near Camp Area G. Plus, enjoy yard games and sports courts!

This month we will explore the prairies and thickets found at Tugend Prairie Preserve! Late Fall migrants like sparrows and kinglets are expected! We will meet at the trail head parking lot, located at 3583 Tugend Rd, Butler. Restrooms will not be available and the entire walk will last 1½ – 2 hours. Hope to see you there!
