5-7pm Traveling Program Golf Cart – Watch for the traveling program golf cart with weekend schedules.
8-9pm Karaoke & Cards – Bring snacks and a deck of cards to the Welcome Center for a little fun and games. The karaoke machine will also be set up for those who want to serenade the card players.
Saturday, June 13 American 250: Wings of Freedom
9-10am Breakfast with the Birds – Enjoy donuts at the bird viewing window. Program staff will be available to assist with identification and bird questions.
11am-1pm Osprey Wagon Tour – Take a wagon ride for a sightseeing tour of the park, searching the skies for our local osprey. Registration required www.MWCD.org/tickets.
2-3pm Birdie Kite Craft for Kids – Bring your adult assistant to the Welcome Center to create a simple bird kite that can really fly.
3:30-4:15pm Ohio Bird Sanctuary – Visit the Nature Center to see and learn about live birds! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
5-6pm Felt Bird Craft for Adults – Create a bookmark that shows off your favorite bird. Supplies and instructions are in the Welcome Center.
7-8pm Eat Like a Bird – Create a bird beak and try to eat snack food like a bird at the Welcome Center.

10:30-11:30am Storytime with Richland County Library – Meet in the Welcome Center for stories and a craft.
1-2pm Nature Center Open – Stop by the Nature Room in the Welcome Center for an interactive look at a watershed.
3-4pm Plant Life Scavenger Hike – Pick up a scavenger hunt worksheet from the Nature Room. Work with your family and friends to find all the items to win a prize.
5-6pm Suncatcher Craft for Adults – We will be making a mandala window cling in the Welcome Center.
7-8pm Plant BINGO for Adults – Try your luck at the Welcome Center! Bring a small plant or propagation to be used as a prize. For ages 15+, as the game will be played at a faster pace.

9-10am Nature Center Open – See and help feed the LIVE animals in the Nature Center inside the Welcome Center. Visit the fish mural, history exhibit, and bird observation window.
11am-12pm Yarn Wrapped Flower Craft for Kids – Head to the Welcome Center to create a beautiful spring flower. Children should bring an adult assistant.
3-4pm Creek Walk – Meet at the stream near Camp Area C to discover aquatic creatures. Guests must wear shoes that can get wet. All kids should have their own adult supervision.
5-6pm Compass Challenge – Meet at the Welcome Center deck to learn how to use a compass and then complete a challenge course and win a prize.
7-8pm Rag Wreath Craft for Adults – Meet at the Welcome Center to create a wreath with strips of fabric. For ages 16 and up.
9-11pm Movie at the Lake – Bring your blanket, camp chair, and snacks to Picnic Shelter #1 near Camp Area G to watch a movie on the BIG screen. Did you know that it was filmed in Ohio?! The movie is rated PG-13. In case of bad weather, movie will be shown in the Welcome Center.

10am-12pm Fishing for Kids – Go fishing at BOAT DOCKS NEAR CAMP AREA B and Covert Rd. Fishing poles, bait, and guidance will be provided. For kids aged 15 and under with their own adult supervision.
1-2pm Patriotic Ribbon Wand Craft for Kids – Kids of all ages will create a Patriotic Wand in the Welcome Center. Parents must accompany their children and dress for painting.
3-4pm T-shirt Tie Dye – Make a unique creation near the Welcome Center! T-shirts will be available for purchase. Cash only, $10 each. Sizes are first-come, first-served. *New 2026 t-shirt design*
5-6pm Giant Kick Ball – Meet at the playground by Area F for a silly version of kickball. We will be using a giant playground ball. For all ages!
7-10pm LIVE Music: SB Music – Bring your own chair or blankets to enjoy the best Classic Rock covers at Picnic Shelter #1 near Camp Area G. Plus, enjoy yard games and sports courts!

Join us for a fun-filled Father’s Day Weekend at Pleasant Hill from June 18 to June 20. The festivities kick off with the Campfire Chronicles Book Club on Thursday evening, where book lovers can gather at the fire ring by the Welcome Center to discuss “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt. On Friday, visit the Nature Center to learn about fathers in nature and keep an eye out for the traveling golf cart offering weekend schedules and trail maps.
Saturday welcomes a day of special activities, starting with a Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast at the Welcome Center, followed by fishing fun for kids aged 16 and under at the fishing dock. Kids can also partake in a craft session to create personalized hand towels for Father’s Day. The highlight of the day will be the Golf Cart Poker Run, where participants compete to find hidden poker chips throughout the park. The evening features the Pedal Patrol Kick-off, complete with a helmet giveaway and a bike safety checklist, followed by another opportunity to visit the Nature Center.
Whether you’re here for the book club, breakfast, crafts, or poker run, this weekend celebrates fathers, nature, and community in a charming outdoor setting.

Enjoy a kayak tour of Pleasant Hill Lake by the light of the full moon! Boat, paddle, life jacket, and light provided or bring your own. Boat capacity limits apply, 325 lbs. for single kayaks and 500 lbs. for tandem kayaks. Must be 12 years-old. Waivers are required for all participants.
